Environmental Services Technician – 3rd Shift (Hospital Housekeeping)
Job Description
This role focuses on cleaning and sanitizing hospital rooms and common areas, with a strong emphasis on discharge room turnover between patients. You will work primarily on 3rd shift in a fast-paced hospital environment, performing a wide range of housekeeping and environmental services tasks to support a safe, clean, and sanitary facility for patients, visitors, and staff.
Responsibilities
Why Work Here?
Employees who transition to direct employment with the hospital gain access to highly competitive medical, dental, and vision benefits, along with generous paid time off. The organization emphasizes long-term stability and offers the opportunity to build a career in a respected healthcare environment. You will contribute directly to patient safety and well-being while working with modern tools and technology that support your day-to-day responsibilities.
Work Environment
This position operates on 3rd shift, typically from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend and every other major holiday. The hospital is a large facility, requiring extensive walking and time on your feet throughout the shift. The pace is very fast, with frequent room turnovers and a constant flow of assignments delivered through hospital-issued iPhones. As a level 1 trauma center, the environment can be intense, and employees may encounter situations that could be jarring to many individuals. Patience and resilience are important, especially during onboarding, as it may take several weeks to receive a security badge and full access. The role involves regular use of cleaning tools and equipment, adherence to strict safety and infection-control standards, and a professional appearance consistent with hospital housekeeping and environmental services expectations.
